Thankful Tuesday

I am part of a group that meets on Tuesday mornings to pray for our kids – we pray for the kids at school as well as the little ones running around the room as we pray.  We pray for their friends, their teachers, the school system, ourselves, and each other in turn and it’s just lovely.  I am so thankful to be part of this group, and that I am able to attend again!

This morning’s verse, which is a loose guideline meant to inspire our prayers, was:

Deut. 31:6:

“Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.”

Did you get that last part?!

“He will never leave you nor forsake you” – I am so very Thankful for God’s promise to never leave or forsake me.  I’m so thankful for the courage and strength that can be built with that simple understanding, and I so hope that I can impart that love and faithfulness to my children.

I’m thankful for the beautiful day today – that it’s cold in a way that bites your fingers, but the sun is so bright that your face is warmed as you walk in the cold.

I’m thankful that my house has stayed somewhat clean and organized in the past couple days – I don’t know how it has happened since I haven’t touched the laundry and the only thing I’ve really kept up on is dishes, but I’m thankful, nonetheless!

I’m thankful for friends and the ability to share this life with people who have similar ideas about the purpose of their life in this world.

I’m thankful for this family of mine.

I’m thankful for the silliness of taking pictures of pictures.

How about you?

  1. So glad to have a little introduction to you! Thanks for being thankful with me…so great to hear about your prayer group. Is it with Mom’s in Touch? I was part of MIT prayer group in Philadelphia for two years…loved those women I prayed with.

    Happy Thankful Tuesday!

    • We were inspired by, and run similarly to MIT, but decided to make our own thing so that it could be a bit more relaxed when needed, and make stay at home dad’s feel more welcome to the group instead of just making it Mom’s, but that hasn’t happened yet anyway. 🙂
